About Allen A Du Mont of A Child & Family Therapy Center of Bayside, NY

Allen A. Du Mont, L.C.S.W., B.C.D., D.P.N.A.P. is a highly trained and licensed clinical social worker who has been helping children, individual adults, couples & families for over 30 years. He earned his Master's degree at Adelphi University which awarded him a graduate assistantship in his 2nd year of study. Soon after, he pursued advance clinical training at the Long Island Institute for Mental Health completing the 3 year Fellowship Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Following graduation he was invited to sit on final examination panels for graduating candidates and to supervise regular staff. He completed all the dissertation in NYU's Ph.D. program in clinical social work which included a year's practicum in family therapy. In addition to this training he has earned primary certificates in Rational Emotive Therapy, Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and Object Relations Couples Therapy.

Besides his own private practice of over 30 years he has experience in both public & private settings, service as a clinician, supervisor, trainer and administrator and has taught as an adjunct Professor at Fordham School of Social Service and Hunter College School of Social Work of CUNY. He founded A Child & Family Therapy Center of Bayside almost 30 years ago to serve the Queens and western Nassau communities.

Mr. Du Mont is a recognized leader in the field of clinical social work having served in local, state, and national office for over 25 years. Currently he is president of ICAPP, a small but distinguished organization dedicated to providing advanced clinical social work education. He is also Chair of the Social Work Academy of the National Academies of Practice an organization comprised of the 10 health professions, formed to honor leaders in the field and to advise the Congress and regulatory agencies of health policy. For his contribution to the field he was awarded the honr of "Distinguished Practicality" and for contributions to NAP was one of the first social workers to be made "Fellow".
